" We deliver trusted forestry and rural land management solutions that create lasting value for our clients: strengthening landscapes, supporting communities, and contributing to Scotland’s journey to Net Zero through skilled people and responsible practice. "
ICD Contracting’s philosophy is built on strong values and long-term thinking.
We believe that success comes from sustainable growth where performance is balanced with responsibility: to our people, our communities, and the environment we work within.
Centred in Argyll and delivering services throughout Scotland.
We recognise the benefits we can bring to local communities by engaging collaboratively and operating mindfully. We work in partnership with clients, stakeholders, and local communities, recognising the importance of rural livelihoods and shared stewardship of the land.
Our people are key to our success.
We actively encourage employee involvement, training, and accountability, creating a culture where experience, pride in workmanship, and continuous improvement drive high performance. Empowered teams deliver better outcomes: safely, efficiently, and ethically.
Our journey began with a focus on forestry services, gradually expanding to include a wide range of environmental and land management solutions. Although our business has grown from those humble beginnings our vision has remained true: to balance performance with responsibility, caring for our people, our communities, and the land we manage.

ICD Contracting believes in investing in the best staff and equipment to ensure that we always have the right people and tools for every job.
By deploying highly trained operatives and the most robust and efficient machinery available, we undertake all contracts effectively and to the highest standards.
Staff development means empowering our people to be the best versions of themselves through targeted training and career mentoring.
We constantly seek to innovate when it comes to our fleet of machines and equipment and all plant is maintained to the highest standards of efficiency and effectiveness.
Environmental responsibility underpins our work. By managing land thoughtfully and working with natural processes, we protect biodiversity, enhance landscapes, and support resilient rural environments. Our robust environmental policies drive us to continually reduce our resource consumption and carbon emissions through effective management and applying new technologies.
We always seek to utilise materials and products from sustainable sources while adopting waste minimisation techniques to ensure the most efficient use of non-sustainable resources. We set and achieve ambitious environmental improvement objectives and targets in relation to water, waste, energy and our use of suppliers and contractors.
ICD Contracting’s approach is aligned with the Scottish Government’s Climate Change Plan which seeks to invest in nature-based solutions, helping to reverse nature decline and restore and regenerate biodiversity in Scotland. For example, by delivering specialist forest-to-bog operations, we help our clients to reverse historic afforestation on deep peat. This peatland restoration makes a vital contribution to the Scottish Government’s target of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2045 and enhancing the nation’s natural capital.
