Our people are key to our success.

How we started

Established as ICD Tree Services in 2007, ICD Contracting Ltd has extensive experience in all aspects of forestry management and tree surgery.

Our journey began with a focus on forestry services, gradually expanding to include a wide range of environmental and land management solutions. Although our business has grown from those humble beginnings our vision has remained true: to balance performance with responsibility, caring for our people, our communities, and the land we manage.

Sustainability & Net Zero

Environmental responsibility underpins our work. By managing land thoughtfully and working with natural processes, we protect biodiversity, enhance landscapes, and support resilient rural environments. Our robust environmental policies drive us to continually reduce our resource consumption and carbon emissions through effective management and applying new technologies.

We always seek to utilise materials and products from sustainable sources while adopting waste minimisation techniques to ensure the most efficient use of non-sustainable resources. We set and achieve ambitious environmental improvement objectives and targets in relation to water, waste, energy and our use of suppliers and contractors.

ICD Contracting’s approach is aligned with the Scottish Government’s Climate Change Plan which seeks to invest in nature-based solutions, helping to reverse nature decline and restore and regenerate biodiversity in Scotland. For example, by delivering specialist forest-to-bog operations, we help our clients to reverse historic afforestation on deep peat. This peatland restoration makes a vital contribution to the Scottish Government’s target of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2045 and enhancing the nation’s natural capital.

  • Sustainability

Delivering sustainable forestry and rural land management outcomes to high quality, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Net Zero targets

Applying eco-friendly methods, investing in renewables, and promoting sustainable land management to minimise our carbon footprint.

  • Responsible stewardship

Working in partnership with clients to restore, manage and protect Scotland’s rural environments through responsible stewardship.
