Trainee Digger Driver Wanted

ICD Contracting Ltd is looking for a Trainee Digger Driver to join our hardworking team. Based in the Scottish Highlands, we specialise in forestry services, peatland restoration, estate management, and rural groundworks. No previous digger experience is required—we provide full, hands-on training with experienced operators. What matters most is attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn outdoor, practical work.

What the Role Involves

As a Trainee Digger Driver, you’ll be involved in a wide variety of projects, including:

• peatland restoration and rewetting
• forestry and woodland work
• track building and maintenance
• ditching and drainage
• ground preparation
• assisting experienced plant operators
• general estate and land management tasks

Every day is different, and you’ll work in some of Scotland’s most impressive landscapes.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be an expert—we’ll teach you the technical skills. But the right candidate will:

• enjoy working outdoors in all weathers
• be hardworking, reliable, and punctual
• have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• work well in a small team
• have good attention to detail
• be comfortable with rural and remote work locations
• ideally hold a full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)

Experience in farming, forestry, or outdoor labour is helpful but not necessary.
