Tree shearing
Tree shearing is a relatively low-risk and efficient forestry method using a hydraulic attachment on an excavator to cut, grab, and remove trees or large branches. It is often used in land clearing and forestry management and offers a safer alternative to manual felling, allowing for precise, controlled cutting and minimising ground disturbance.
ICD Contracting deploys precision equipment and experienced operators to reduce machine movements, fuel use, and overall site impact, supporting carbon reduction objectives. Working in partnership with Westtech, we operate the C350 Woodcracker on 18- and 22-ton low ground pressure excavators, significantly reducing soil compaction and site disturbance in sensitive and environmentally challenging locations.
Our specialist tree shearing services play a key role in supporting renewable energy and biomass felling projects. By delivering controlled, efficient harvesting, we help to maximise usable biomass for energy generation while minimising waste and unnecessary disturbance.
