Woodland creation

Forestry

ICD Contracting plants trees for timber production, carbon projects, and environmental schemes. We also plant woodland corridors for utility companies and other infrastructure organisations.

Prior to creating a new woodland, we undertake a comprehensive planning and design process to define the client’s objectives and understand the constraints and challenges that the specific site presents. This informs species selection, site preparation, risk mitigation, planting strategy, and aftercare. Our ground preparation service includes clearing existing vegetation, installing drainage, and creating planting mounds. Protecting the new trees from damage is critical and so we erect deer fencing, drive out existing deer, and cull the remainder, if required. We also install vole or deer guarding, as appropriate.
